Rights and wrongs of keeping animals in zoos
Keeping animals in zoos has numerous rights and wrongs too. There are many zoos worldwide and they entertain people and their children. They offer relative cheap whole day program for families. We can thing that zoos are only for this entertaining but they are much more important in connection with animal reservation.
Global warming (with this high rate of speed, it must be dependent on humans) and other anthropogenic effects (e.g. habitat isolation by settlements, roads, railways; vanishing of habitats; lack of food) endanger many species all over the world. If the number of them decreases below a critical point, the extinction of these species will be unavoidable. In these cases, zoos can help us. Hence, the most important advantage of zoos is the function in diversity conservation. It would be better to save animals at their original habitat but sometimes it is impossible. Nowadays some species only can exist at zoos. Zoos also make controllable the spread of genetic information due to the propagation between selected cows and jacks.
However, some zoos provide very bad conditions for animals, not only because of the too hot or too cold climate or because of the too strait place but they cannot ensure nor the cleanness, calmness and the others. This fact makes animals unhappy and we do not have the right to take their independence neither. We keep such species in zoos, which do not need our control for subsistence and it degrades zoos profit grower facilities.
Considering everything, zoos have the reason for existence but our role is to run them well and it do not come true while we are so selfish.
